As your child enters kindergarten, they are being introduced to the academic and social aspects of school. It is an exciting transition as their young minds explore deeper lessons in the core areas of Bible, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. These students are also learning a more structured class schedule, responsibilities, and routines that teach them how to be independent, successful students.
The foundation your child receives in kindergarten will help them flourish in school for years to come. With a large focus on reading and writing, children begin to grow as independent readers and writers. Kindergarterners have daily reading groups and independent classroom library time. Writing is explored through weekly journal practices, activities and special family-oriented projects throughout the year.
