Criteria for Employee Benefits

Employees working 30 hours or more per week shall be granted benefits provided by Cresset with the exception of life and disability insurance which shall be based on full-time, permanent, 40 hour per week employment.

Health Insurance

Group health insurance is provided for the employee and is paid by Cresset. Other family members may be covered at the expense of the employee. Limited optical coverage is also provided through the insurance provider as part of the health care insurance coverage at no additional charge.

Life and Disability Insurance

Long-term and short-term disability are provided as well as life insurance equal to one year's salary. There is a 30-day waiting period required by the insurer for this coverage and employees must be full-time to qualify.

Child-Care

On premises child-care is provided for children of staff aged 2 through 4.  The rate is 50% of preschool rates.  Our educational program begins with K5.

Tuition Rates

A Qualified Tuition Reduction Plan (equal to 50%) is available to all eligible employees for their dependent K5-12th grade CCA students.

Annuity

As a ministry of Cresset Baptist Church, Academy employees are eligible to participate in the Southern Baptist Convention's annuity plan as a means of establishing retirement funds.

Matched Funds

Full-time employees who participate in the Southern Baptist Convention's annuity plan will have their contribution matched by Cresset Christian Academy up to 2.5% of salary (based on criteria established by Cresset). 

The NC Baptist State Convention matches staff contributions monthly by $17.50 when $105 is contributed monthly to the Annuity Board.

There are other benefits associated with participation in the Southern Baptist Annuity plan which are determined by that organization.

Lunches

Employee lunches are sold at a reduced rate.

Counseling

Pastoral counseling is available by appointment with the Senior Pastor of Cresset Baptist Church.

Leave Days / Vacation

Six sick leave days are allowed per year for contract employees.  At the end of the fiscal year, an employee will be paid $50/day for any of the 6 days not used.

Six sick leave days are allowed per year for non-contract employees who are paid hourly or salaried.

Year round employees are granted vacation time when school is not in session.

When an employee is absent from work for an administratively approved professional leave day, the employee will be paid his regular rate of pay for that day.

Salary - Faculty positions

Faculty salaries are computed starting with base salary plus a stipend for years of teaching experience in other schools and that of Cresset teaching experience.  Factored into their salary, an additional stipend is given for masters degree and doctoral degree work.  Any additional stipends are based on responsibilities.
